A Bone-Chilling Performance: Ma Masion

Every year, as the exciting holiday of Halloween approaches so does my nostalgia for my favorite creepy, dances passed. While recently taking a trip down memory lane,  I remembered a specific dance my college dance professor showed me about 4 years ago called Ma Masion . This  performance was danced by one of my favorite dance company’s, The Trey McIntyre Project. Founded in 2008, this company has been featured in the New York Times as well as Dance magazine.

Ma Masion, meaning My home in French leads me to interrupt the dance as an homage to the hardships people have faced in New Orleans. The voodoo vibe really adds an interesting element to the complexity of the story the dancers are telling.
In all, the dance does a wonderful job of letting the story telling be up to the audience. The result is an eerie but fun performance that can be enjoyed at any time of the year.
